Maner completed her undergraduate studies at Cornell University and later received her master's degree in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University. After working for offices in New York such as Maya Lin Studio and 1001 Architects, Maner moved to SouthEast Asia to pursue her own practice. In 2006, she founded her studio named Selin Maner Architects (SMA) in Singapore, only to be followed by project-based offices in Bali and Phnom Penh in 2006, and Selin Maner Architects-SMA İstanbul office in 2010. Maner’s practice encompases the design and management of a variety of projects, spanning from ecotourism developments to private luxury residences. Likewise, SMA holds a wide spectrum of projects located in Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Mozambique, Netherlands, Bulgaria and in Turkey. Having had experience with art direction, stage design, furniture design, sculpture constructions and prefabricated building design, some of Maner’s drawings are featured in the New York Museum of Modern Art’s Artist Archives.
