SOUR Studio
İnanç Eray is Partner of SOUR, a registered Turkish architect and a designer with more than nineteen years of international design experience. He graduated from the Middle East Technical University Faculty of Architecture in Ankara, Turkey in 2003 with a BArch degree with Honors. From 2003 to 2005 he attended DRL- Design Research Lab at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London. He graduated in 2005 with Honors and received the degree of Master of Architecture and Urbanism.
In 2005, after his graduation he joined Zaha Hadid Architects in London where he resided full time for 8 years. During this period, he led several design commissions and competitions and won international prizes within ZHA where he mastered computational design, digital manufacturing techniques, and digital design, as well as design / contact administration, code, and planning legislations. His final project at ZHA, the Serpentine Sackler Gallery in Hyde Park, London was completed in 2013. He was the lead designer and the project architect of the project from inception to completion, working closely with Patrik Schumacher and Charles Walker.
In 2013, İnanç was shortlisted by Istanbul Modern and MoMA for “Top 5 Young Architects in Turkey” under the International Young Architects Program (YAP) His project “Seapeaker” was exhibited in MoMA, NY through the summer.
In 2015, he founded SOUR, an award-winning global architecture and design studio based in New York and Istanbul with the mission of addressing social and urban problems through inclusive, sustainable, and adaptive processes.
Currently, İnanç continues to be a Partner at SOUR and is an active lecturer, faculty at NYIT, and speaker at various universities and events globally.
