Hasan Çalışlar was born in 1969 in İstanbul. After Saint Michel French High School, Çalışlar graduated from Mimar Sinan University, School of Architecture in 1992. He then completed his graduate studies with a thesis on “Güç ve İktidar” (Power and Governance). In 1993, Çalışlar co-founded Erginoğlu & Çalışlar, together with Kerem Erginoğlu. Having completed numerous distinguished projects and many firsts in architecture both in Turkey and abroad, Çalışlar worked on projects on a wide variety of scales, such as office buildings, cultural buildings, shopping malls, public buildings - like education, sports and industry complexes - residences and campuses. During his career, Çalışlar received a great number of national and global awards. Besides his professional work, he also worked both as a guest lecturer and jury member at institutions such as Mimar Sinan University, İstanbul Technical University, Bursa Uludağ University, Yıldız Technical University, Bologna University and Minnesota University.
