Görkem Volkan, who continued her architectural education at Yıldız Technical University Restoration Department, New York Pratt Institute and Yeditepe University respectively, graduated from Yeditepe University Department of Architecture in 2004. After her graduation, she worked at Nabil Gholam Architects in Lebanon for a while. During his time in this office, she was the design coordinator of many mixed-use projects in Qatar and Dubai. In 2006, she founded Görkem Volkan Design Studio. Görkem Volkan, besides producing architectural concept and application projects at various scales in Turkey and abroad, she also carries out interior design and application projects of large-scale commercial and residential spaces. Volkan, who continues to contribute to the profession and the young people she strongly believes in as an invited jury member at universities and as a speaker at panels and conferences, is a member of the IstanbulSMD 10th Term Board of Directors.
