Hızıroğlu, after Saint-Joseph High School, graduated from the State Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture in 1970. In 1972, along with his career as an academician, he founded ERA Architects. The early years of his profession were shaped by the success he gained through architectural project competitions. During his career as an academician which started with the assistantship at Yıldız Technical University, Hızıroğlu received his “Associate Professor” and “Professor” titles in 1979 and 1988 respectively. Hızıroğlu built ERA Architects’ visionary identity on principles such as ‘interdisciplinary work’, ‘work discipline’, ‘keeping up with technology and innovations’ which are still sustained to this day. He also competed and received high ranks in numerous nation-wide and global competitions. Hızıroğlu, served as the Chairman of the Executive Board of the İstanbul Association of Architects in Private Practice (İstanbulSMD) between 2015-16.
