Emin Balkış

Balkış was born in İstanbul in 1972. He graduated from İstanbul Technical University, School of Architecture in 1994. In 1999, he completed his graduate studies at İstanbul Technical University, Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences, with a thesis titled “Evolution of Modernist Space”. Upon graduation Balkış started working for Erginoğlu & Çalışlar Architecture. He was awarded with an Incentive Award in İSTON Original Designs Competition and with a 1st-place Mention from Çimsa Urban Furniture Design Competition in 2001 and 2002 respectively. Balkış, during his career, participated in numerous competitions and published articles in various magazines. He now continues his professional work in arkiZON, which he co-founded together with Elvan Çalışkan in 2003.
