Doğan Hasol


HAS Architecture

Hasol graduated from Galatasaray High School and İTÜ School of Architecture in 1956 and 1961 respectively. Between 1965 and ‘66, Hasol served as the Secretariat Member of the Chamber of Architects. Later, between 1966-69, he worked as the editor-in-chief for the Chamber of Architects’ magazine named Mimarlık (Architecture). He also took roles in the Executive Board of the Chamber of Architects. Hasol, in 1968, with a group of friends, founded Yapı-Endüstri Merkezi (YEM) which is a building related information center. Between 1989 and 1995, he served two terms as the Chairman of the International Union of Building Centers, later, followed by an Honorary Membership. Currently, Hasol pursues his architectural work in HAS Architecture. During his career, he has been a jury member for several nation-wide and international competitions. Besides his professional and academic work, he has 18 published books. And, he was granted the title of “Honorary Doctor” by İstanbul Technical University and Yıldız Technical University. Also having served as Chairman of the Executive Board of İstanbulSMD back in the past, Hasol was awarded with İstanbulSMD Contribution to Architecture Award in 2014.
