Berk Architecture
Tuğberk graduated from State Academy of Fine Arts with a master's degree, in 1975. He worked in the same institute between 1978 and ‘80 as an assistant. Simultaneously he also started his doctoral studies in İstanbul Technical University with Prof. Sina Berköz. In 1981, following the research scholarship he received via the Italian Government, he attended a language program in Perugia, and went on to become a research student working with Prof. Guido Nardi. After working for the Italian architect Prof. Gino Valle’s office in Milan, Tuğberk founded Berk Architecture in 1984, in İstanbul. He focused on his works such as Datça Holiday Village, Kemer Türkiz Hotel and Ankara Hotel in Kazakhstan. In 1995, he prepared a master plan project for the new capital of Kazakhstan, together with architects Federico Marconi and Amanjol Smerdanoviç. Tuğberk, today, works on hotels, boat decorations, offices, villas, cultural centers, shopping malls and restoration projects that are environmentally sensitive, with a focus on aesthetics.
