Ahmet Alataş Architecture
Alataş was born in 1969 in Ankara. He graduated from Vienna Technical University’s School of Architecture in 1996. He worked with Professor Hans Hollein during his undergraduate year, and with Professor Helmut Richter in Vienna upon his graduation. Alataş, in 1999, in Vienna, founded Alataş Architecture & Consulting. Later, after relocating his office in İstanbul, in 2001, he founded Ahmet Alataş Workshop in 2017 with the purpose of creating opportunities for students to have experiences in various disciplines. Alataş was awarded German Design Awards in 2015 for his design: Dardanel Headquarters. He also received the Europe Steel Award and Perfection Award by ECCS (The Energy Coalition for Contractor Safety) in 2017, for his project: Robert College Murat Karamancı Student Center. Alataş, today, teaches design courses in Austria and Turkey as a lecturer, plus, participates in critiques as a jury member and attends national and global conferences.
