A/Y Mimarlık
He was born in 1947 in Bafra. Hacıömeroğlu started his secondary education at Samsun Maarif College and graduated from Ilionis Sullivan High School in 1965. In 1969, he graduated from Middle East Technical University, Faculty of Architecture.
In 1972, he received his master architect diploma with his thesis on ‘Design of a Model Slum Prevention Zone’. In 1970, he worked with Y. Architect Enis Kortan at METU Faculty of Architecture Applied Research Institute. He worked as a project architect at Umut İnan Architecture Office in 1971 and Erkut Şahinbaş Architecture Office in 1972. In 1973, with a scholarship from the Danish Ministry of Education, he completed his research on ‘Industrialised Construction’ at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen.
In 1976, he and architect Yalçın Türkdoğan founded A/Y Architecture in Istanbul, and in 1988 A/Y Architecture Design Construction and Trade Co. Ltd. Şti. turned into a company.
