1934 - 2023
Arolat was born in 1934, in Ankara. In 1959, he graduated from the İstanbul Technical University, School of Architecture. Between 1959 and ‘60, Arolat worked for Werner Gabriel Firm in Stuttgart, Germany. In 1962, together with Şaziment Arolat, he co-founded Arolat Architecture in Ankara, which was later relocated to İstanbul in 1968. In the Chamber of Architects National Architecture Awards, he was awarded the Architectural Achievement Award and the Achievement Award in the Building Category in 1988 and 1992 respectively. From the architectural competitions he participated in, he holds sixteen 1st Prizes, six 2nd Prizes, three 3rd Prizes and fourteen mentions. Arolat is a member of both the TMMOB Chamber of Architects and İstanbulSMD (İstanbul Association of Architects in Private Practice). He continued his work within EAA-Emre Arolat Architecture as an Honorary Partner between 2008-2023. He passed away in 2023.
