Nişan Yaubyan

Born in İstanbul, in 1928, Yaubyan graduated from İstanbul Technical University, School of Architecture in 1953. He received numerous awards from competitions he participated in with his friends from İTÜ - and later to be his business partners - Enis Kortan, Avyerinos Andonyadis and Harutyun Vapurciyan. Having completed his graduate studies at Michigan University, Yaubyan had the opportunity to work for Eero Saarinen and Minoru Yamasaki, and to take part in prominent architectural projects such as Twin Towers (World Trade Center) and Century Plaza. After his ten years of experience in the USA, Yaubyan returned back to Turkey and pursued his professional career in his own office. In 2000, he started teaching at Yeditepe University, School of Architecture and taught studio design courses for the following 11 years. Yaubyan passed away on August 9th, 2022.
