Banu Uçak graduated from FMV Işık High School and obtained her Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Yıldız Technical University in 2002. During her career spanning over a decade at the Yapı-Endüstri Merkezi (Building Information Center Turkey), she contributed to the development of architectural culture through various activities such as organizing conferences, competitions, and trips. She also actively participated in initiatives aimed at representing Turkish architecture internationally.
While continuing her professional career, she completed her Master's degree in Architectural Design at Istanbul Technical University in 2018 with a thesis titled "Threshold as a Concept in Turkish Architecture in the 1980s." After her tenure at Yapı-Endüstri Merkezi, she served as a senior executive in construction materials and real estate development, managing projects of various scales.
Banu Uçak continues her independent work, managing the process of obtaining high-quality architectural projects for various institutions' new investments. Additionally, she produces content in design and architecture, gives speeches, and conducts communication projects. She has served as a jury member in national and international competitions, and her articles and interviews have been published in various magazines.
Since 2015, Banu Uçak has been a jury member for the World Architecture Festival. In 2017, she prepared and hosted an architectural documentary titled "Reflection" for TRT Belgesel. In 2022, she produced a documentary titled "Homage to Masters" for the Istanbul Association of Freelance Architects, shedding light on prominent figures in contemporary Turkish architecture. Banu Uçak is currently teaching at Özyeğin University's Faculty of Architecture.
